Despite every smartphone on the market featuring an onboard camera, it looks like they aren't replacing compact cameras just yet - at least that's what Sony UK thinks. Speaking to TechRadar, the company believes that despite the drop in sales in recent months (it dropped by around 30% last year), the DSC (digital stills camera) “is in a pretty healthy state”. Other manufacturers have pulled out of the low-end market because of disappointing results but with reports of increased sales of higher end compacts, it looks like companies will be focusing on them instead.
