This watch lets you make cardless MasterCard payments

In the past year, NFC/RFID technology advancements have allowed shoppers to make quick and easy payments using programs such as MasterCard's PayPass and Visa's PayWire. Without ever having to remove a credit card from your wallet or purse, RFID technology allows you to make a credit card payment by simply placing your enabled device next to a sensor. Although typical NFC devices come in the form of modern smartphones equipped with applications such as Google Wallet, watch manufacturer LAKS has partnered up with MasterCard to create another method for easy payments using RFID technology.

T-Mobile G2X arrives at End Of Life status

T-Mobile G2X arrives at End Of Life status

All good things must come to an end, and the definition of “good things” remain to be sorted out as different people have very different standards. For starters, not everyone would agree that the T-Mobile G2X is a “good thing”, although there is certainly another group of people who think otherwise. Whatever your stand is on the T-Mobile G2X, this is the first dual-core Android-powered smartphone in the US, so that bit of history deserves some coverage. It seems that the G2X has finally reached its End Of Life status five days ago, so let us have a moment of silence.

The Mystery of Panasonic's “Skype Tablet”

The Mystery of Panasonic's “Skype Tablet”

Panasonic teased attendees of CES 2012 with a device they call a “Skype tablet.” The silver-colored device features a 7-inch LCD screen, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a webcam at the front, and an SD card slot at the back. Unfortunately, this tablet was pulled out of the Panasonic booth–out of nowhere and for undisclosed reasons–before the public could get their hands on it. The booth's staff are not even helpful when asked about this mystery device.
But anyway, you can check out more photos about it at the source link.

Personal Rover transport device

The Segway certainly occupies a niche market, and perhaps this is where the Personal Rover might want to enter the fray – as an electronic transport device that is easy to use, highly efficient and making you look as though you hail from the future instead of some dorky looking dude. The Personal Rover comes with trigger handle acceleration and navigational turning control, where you navigate through the landscape by simply tilting your body to the left or right, making it feel as though you are performing slalom skiing, although the adrenaline rush is not going to be there.

TOSY mRobo robot teams up with teen dream Justin Bieber

[CES 2012] Justin Bieber is a character who divides people down the middle – either you hate him or love him, and what better way to garner attention to your products than team up with the pubescent prince. That is what TOSY did with their mRobo robot, where this portable digital lifeform is not only capable of dancing, but doubles up as a speaker as well. After all, it would not make too much sense to groove to some wicked dance moves without any thumping music, is there. The mRobo tips the scales at 3.3 lbs, and will not be taller than 18″ in size.

Actiontec MyWirelessTV Multi-Room Wireless HD Video Kit Review

If you have a house with multiple TVs, you're faced with providing content for each of them.  With my cable company, I have to pay for extra lines, plus an extra charge for a cable box and remote control for each line.  I'll need to buy DVD players for each, too.  With the the MyWirelessTV Multi-Room Wireless HD Video Kit, Actiontec promises I can stream full HD video from the programming source in one room to the TV in another room without having to run wires.  I don't even have to worry about connecting it to my home's wireless network, because the MyWirelessTV boxes are paired to use their own wireless 802.11n connection. .

The Feedair hardware is the first product born from this initiative, and it has been designed to be friendly, visible, but not intrusive at the same time. The Feedair device requires a WiFi network and a smartphone to set it up (iOS or Android).

Verizon Wireless Motorola DROID 4 hands-on

Verizon Wireless Motorola DROID 4 hands-on

. We just swung by the Motorola booth to check out the Motorola DROID 4, a handset that had been the subject of a half-dozen rumors before the show. The DROID 4 packs a solid 5-row keyboard that was really easy to type on but it's also very thin and measures just 0.5-inches thick. The smartphone comes equipped by a sharp 4-inch qHD display, a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, support for Verizon's 4G LTE network, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, an 8-megapixel camera, and the ability to record 1080p video.

Buick Encore brings small to the big stage of Detroit

Buick Encore brings small to the big stage of Detroit

Buick used the bright lights of the Detroit Auto Show to unveil the 2013 Encore; a mite-sized crossover that will be smaller than other vehicles in its class. In fact, the Encore is only 168 inches long, and its wheelbase is only 104.8 inches across. Even with those diminutive proportions, the Encore still manages to house 48 cubic feet of cargo with the second-row seats folded flat. The front passenger seat also folds for additional storage.
Buick also worked hard to distinguish the cabin of the Encore, with active noise cancellation that General Motors design boss Ed Welburn claims will be among the quietest in its class.

Lenovo's IdeaTab S2 10-inch tablet is Lenovo's answer to Asus's Transformer Prime, packs a 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon

This wouldn't be the first time for Lenovo to release a tablet-plus-keyboard combo, though the illusive IdeaPad U1 Hybrid was merely adding Windows to the updated LePad via the keyboard dock. That said, Lenovo's freshly-announced IdeaTab S2 10″ is a full package dedicated to Android 4.0, and it sports a 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon 8x60A or 8960. Compared to the ASUS Transformer Prime and Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, this 10-inch IdeaTab comes close to or even beats them with a 0.34-inch (8.69mm) thickness and a 1.27-pound (580 grams) weight — certainly much better than its Chinese counterpart, the LePad S2010.

Toyota NS4 concept glimpses at Prius of the future

Toyota NS4 concept glimpses at Prius of the future

Toyota can justifiably be proud of its position not only as one of the largest automakers in the world, but also the world leader in hybrid vehicles. In fact, the Japanese automaker claims that half of all hybrids sold are Toyotas. But it didn't get there by resting on its proverbial laurels, and it isn't going to maintain (let alone increase) its market share by doing so, either. That's where the concept car you see here comes in.
Taking position as something of a Prius of the future, the NS4 concept cuts a striking profile – certainly more striking than the current kamm-tailed Prius.

[CES 2012] Bigger is better, right. That is what SanDisk believes when it comes to flash memory storage, and hence they have announced the 128GB SDXC memory card which has enough space to stash away up to 10 hours of Full HD 3D video, which is more than enough to film through an entire sitting of the Lord of the Rings Trilogy (standard edition), leaving some room to goof around to boot. Boasting up to 45MB/s read and write speeds, it is capable of delivering faster shot-to-shot performance and quick data transfers.

Sprint's LTE Site Outs Galaxy Nexus and LG Viper

Sprint has thrown up a landing page for their upcoming 4G LTE network and it comes with the reveal of two new handsets, whether intentionally or not. Outed were a Sprint version of the Galaxy Nexus and the unannounced LG Viper, a dual-core Android 2.3 smartphone with NFC support. While the specs on the Nexus are old hat, the Viper 4G LTE features a 4.0-inch WVGA display, 5.0MP camera and front-facing camera, and NFC with Google Wallet. A Sprint-ready Galaxy Nexus also means official support for Google Wallet on that device, a controversial subject concerning the launch of the handset on Verizon.

2012 Nissan Pathfinder Concept goes back to unibody

Compared to most SUVs-turned-mommy-mobiles, the Nissan Pathfinder has had an odd 27-year existence. Like all 'utes, it's first iteration was built on a truck platform, which was then followed by a unibody second generation. But unlike the rest of the pack, the third-gen Pathfinder swapped back to a body-on-frame architecture and it's stayed that way for the last seven years.

SpareOne phone runs on just one AA battery

[CES 2012] You know these modern day smartphones. Sure, they might be able to feature boatloads of bells and whistles that lack just the kitchen sink, but their battery life is rare enough to push beyond one day's usage with all the options turned on. The SpareOne phone, on the other hand, takes a far more prudent approach by being the only phone in the world that is powered by a solitary AA battery while being capable of maintaining its charge up to 15 years.
