First 2014 Toyota Corolla commercial dances through time

Despite the fact that the Toyota Corolla pretty much sells itself, the eleventh-generation 2014 model is getting a huge marketing push that aims to appeal to both Millennials (of course), as well as the older generations that have lived with the stalwart Japanese compact for decades. The first television advertising spot, called, "Style Never Goes Out of Style," shows that the Corolla has had a place in mainstream culture since its launch in the 1960s.

130-car UK pileup injures hundreds, but no deaths

A crash in the county of Kent in southeast England involving 130 vehicles on a bridge has injured 200 people, 27 of which required hospitalization. The incident, which occurred at 7:15 AM BST (2:15 AM on America's east coast), was on a bridge on the A249, a road that connects two major motorways, the M2 and M20. Poor visibility due to heavy fog is believed to be one of the primary causes of the pileup, with some witnesses reporting they could only see about 30 feet in front of them before the crash.

Daimler and Nissan to build luxury cars at new plant in Mexico

A few years back, when Daimler was looking for a partner to spread the cost of development of small cars, it agreed to collaborate with Nissan on future products, such as vehicle platforms and drivetrains. The latest development in the collaboration concerns the assembly of small luxury cars for Infiniti and Mercedes-Benz at a Nissan plant in Mexico, two unnamed sources told Reuters. The plant in question, Aguascalientes, is a $2 billion project that will open later this year next to an existing Nissan factory.

Google kills off Donut and Eclair in Android's platform distribution numbers for August

Google kills off Donut and Eclair in Android's platform distribution numbers for August

It's that time again, time for another update to Android's platform distribution numbers. This time around, Google's changing up some things. First off, they've completely done away with Donut and Eclair. This isn't because collectively they only accounted for 1.3% of Android devices last month, but because the Google Play Store app is only compatible with Android 2.2 on up. Since Google provides these numbers as a tool for developers when building apps, we suppose it only makes sense.

Also new for August is Google now only accounting for Android devices that have pinged Google Play within the last 7 days, as opposed to 14 in previously.

XiaoMi ZiMi Tablet Reportedly In The Works

XiaoMi ZiMi Tablet Reportedly In The Works

The world of tablets is an interesting one for sure, and we have heard our fair share of rumors about Apple about to unleash a new iPhone and possibly even a new and refreshed iPad later this month. Chinese manufacturer XiaoMi has been reported to be working on a new tablet that is known as the ZiMi tablet. Is it just me, or do the folks over at XiaoMi like to mix uppercase and lowercase characters in their product names. Ah well, a rose by any other name would smell just as sweet, right.

Apple is rumored to be working on its own smartwatch which is widely known as the iWatch. What if we were to consider that the iWatch isn't exactly a smartwatch, but instead its the name for the company's much rumored full fledged TV set. Apple has shown obvious interest in the TV market, in an interview with NBC back in 2012, CEO TIm Cook said that TV is “an area of intense interest” for the company. Steve Jobs' aim to build a completely integrated easy to use TV has been quoted in his biography.
