Yahoo Now Shows Image Search Results From Flickr

Yahoo is announcing today via its blog that its search engine will now include image search results from its very own image hosting and video hosting service, Flickr. This is definitely good news, since this will make it easier for all Yahoo users to find and share photos on the web. Basically, the newly added feature on its search engine will allow users to browse through photos from Flickr - photos that are essentially available for re-use or re-posting under its Creative Commons terms. “Tens of millions of photos are now yours to search and share, courtesy of all the amazing photographers in the Flickr community,” says Yahoo.

Bullet Train Digital Thermometer

Bullet Train Digital Thermometer

A thermometer is not the most exciting device to own, but then again, when you can lighten up someone's through a clever design, why not. After all, didn't the wisdom of the ancients say that laughter is the best medicine. Since you are going to tend to your sick child, you might as well make a meal out of it, and you can begin through purchasing the Bullet Train digital thermometer that will certainly evoke the look of Japan's iconic Shinkansen high-speed trains at the front. At the opposite ends of these digital thermometers are soft and flexible material to keep sick children safe.

Transporter Offers Data Storage Alternative

Transporter Offers Data Storage Alternative

[CES 2013] We are always reminded to back up our data from time to time, but most of us throw caution to the wind, adopting a "it will never happen to me" attitude. In fact, just this morning, my faithful USB flash drive died on me, and I regret not having a more recent backup of it. Having said that, your data storage options when it comes to backups are rather limited – place them on the cloud, or on a physical device. Both have their pros and cons, which could be why the Transporter was thought up of.

New iTunes App Store Submission Policy Could Help Cut Down On Scams

New iTunes App Store Submission Policy Could Help Cut Down On Scams

One of the popular ways that scammers use to trick users into downloading and paying for fake apps on the iTunes App Store would be to submit their app with legitimate screenshots, and then switch them out once they have been approved to resemble another popular app. Scams for Pokemon and Minecraft have been brought to light in the past and it looks like Apple is finally doing something about it. The Cupertino company has announced a new policy in which screenshots submitted along with the app will be locked, meaning scammers will have a harder, if not impossible time of performing ye' old bait-and-switch.

Stop tying your shoes with shoe HICKIES

Stop tying your shoes with shoe HICKIES

When my daughter was learning to tie her own shoes, we found some stretchy shoe laces that made it a bit easier for her to get her shoes on her feet without her having to loosen/tighten her laces, too.  The older lady who lived next door wanted some of those laces so she could get her shoes on and off without tying them to make it easier on her arthritic hands.  The HICKIES Elastic Lacing System from Brookstone would have accomplished the same thing for her without giving her shoes a teenybopper look.

Wired: Ford making Sync AppLink open source, free for any automaker to use

Automakers aren't necessarily known for their sharing skills unless some sort of mutual agreement is in place, but it seems that Ford is looking to create a universal architecture based on its Sync AppLink on which other companies (including rival automakers) can run in-car apps free of charge. With the 2013 Consumer Electronics Show going on, Wired sat down with Ford's Doug VanDagens, director of connected services, who talked about what such a tech-sharing plan could do for Ford and the industry.

iHome iW3 AirPlay Wireless Stereo Speaker System with Rechargeable Battery review

iHome makes a lot of nice accessories for Apple products, and I've gotten to review quite a few things.  I've reviewed docking speakers and Bluetooth speakers, but the iW3 AirPlay Wireless Stereo Speaker System is the first AirPlay speaker from iHome that I've gotten to try.  As you know by now, I have a lot of Apple products in my house.  I now have a mixture of iOS devices with the old 30-pin connectors and the new Lightning connectors, so docking speakers aren't very convenient anymore.  AirPlay speakers that don't rely on any connector are the way to go in the Cloninger household these days.

Sony PlayStation 2 Stops Shipping To Retailers Worldwide

We reported last year that by the end of 2012, the Sony PlayStation 2 would have stopped shipping to Japanese retailers. Since there was no mention of retailers around the world, we assumed that eventually Sony would stop shipping the aged console to them as well, and it looks like we were right. Sony has confirmed to The Guardian that after 12 years and with 150 million units sold worldwide, the company would finally cease shipping of the PlayStation 2 consoles to retailers around the world.
