Infiniti M to get stretched for China

Infiniti M to get stretched for China

China is Infiniti's second-largest market, so important to the brand that it is building its global headquarters in Hong Kong. Infiniti will also adapt to the local tastes in another way this year when it offers an M37 sedan variant that's stretched by 150 millimeters for the Chinese market. By now the Chinese preference for extended-wheelbase vehicles is well known, Audi's A6L having left a trail of money that the BMW 5Li, Mercedes-Benz E300L and Volvo S80L were quick to follow. The longer Infiniti M will go up against that bunch.

Aakash lurches toward another crisis as India loses patience with DataWind

The conflicts and behind-the-scenes drama surrounding India's Aakash project once again threaten its existence. Despite a record-breaking 1.4 million pre-orders gained in under a fortnight, maker DataWind has only shipped 10,000 units to nearly universal derision. Early adopters have found the processor too slow, battery life too short and the resistive touchscreen difficult to use. Kapil Sibal's Human Resource Development ministry now plans to re-open tendering for a replacement contractor and withdraw DataWind's deal for a further 90,000 units.

Flash roadmap reveals new features, improved GPU support, lack of retirement plans

Flash for mobile may just be a spectator at its own wake at this point, but the desktop browser plug-in is still alive and (reasonably) well. In fact, Adobe has a host of plans for its flagship multimedia platform, as outlined in its 2012 roadmap. It all starts with 11.2, which should be landing sooner, rather than later, with support for right and left mouse clicks, multithreaded video decoding and improved GPU acceleration support.

Motor Trend picks their Best Driver's Car of 2011

It's been a long while since the guys at Motor Trend went through the trouble of picking the best driver's car, and for good reason. In order to pull off an actual test with any merit, the publication would need to wrangle some of the most impressive pieces of automotive engineering together on the same track on the same day. When we're talking about vehicles like the Lexus LFA, Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG, Lotus Evora, Ferrari 458 Italia and the like, that can be a daunting feat, even for a rag of MT's swagger.

Samsung's Got A “Bezel-less” Phone With Your Name On It – Galaxy B Coming To MWC? [Rumor]

I've seen it talked about a few times in our comments section and while the general feeling surrounding bezels is that the smaller the better, we still haven't seen a smartphone — or tablet for that matter — with a near “bezeless” display. Well, it looks like that could soon be changing with Samsung rumored to be ushering-in the ear of non-existent bezels with their rumored Galaxy B smartphone. Samsung has long been one of the Android OEM's to feature a great screen-to-bezel ratio and it seems they may have finally figured out how to go all-screen.

Apache outs version 2.4 of its HTTP server six years after last full release

It's been half a dozen years since Apache last released a new version of its venerable HTTP server, but the day has finally come for version 2.4 to be unveiled to the world. Granted, the old Apache was doing fine — it's been the most prolific web server in the world since the mid-nineties — but a bit of freshening up couldn't hurt, right. Among the many changes are reduced memory usage, improved performance and efficiency, and more finely-tuned caching support for high-traffic sites. If you want to know more, check out the source link below for an overview and full feature list.

In fact, the Soul was Kia's second-best-selling model in 2011 behind the Sorento, beating out the critically acclaimed Optima, gorgeous Sportage and entry-level Forte.

Some automakers try their damnedest to keep their new products under wraps until they're good and ready to show it to the world. (And of those, some succeed more than others.) Others, meanwhile, steadily leak out photos and details – through official channels or back ones – to keep us hooked. We're not quite sure which approach Volvo meant to take with its all-new V40, but we do know we've seen more of this car that's yet to be released than we've seen of others that have. This, however, is our best look at the new Swedish hatch yet.

. Apple on Wednesday defended itself in a Shanghai court against Proview International, which claims Apple is violating a trademark it holds on the “iPad” name, the New York Times reported. Proview's allegations have prevented the Cupertino-based company from selling its popular tablet in numerous smaller Chinese cities, however Apple Stores in Beijing and Shanghai continue to sell the device. The four-hour session at the Pudong New Area People's Court ended without any ruling from the district judge, though both sides reportedly presented new evidence in the case.

Samsung's products are apparently fit for a Queen

Let's face it – at some point in time, we have bought certain products because a celebrity or a public figure we respect endorses it. This has ranged from sports apparel, to food and drinks and even our gadgets. Adding to the list of endorsements would be Samsung Electronics who has recently been awarded the Queen Royal Warrant in the UK, a first apparently for any AV/TV product maker. For those unfamiliar with the award, it is basically awarded to people or companies who have provided the The Queen with goods or services for a minimum of five consecutive years.

Barnes & Noble Officially Unveils 8GB Nook Tablet

Just as was rumored over the weekend, Barnes & Noble has introduced an 8GB version of their Nook Tablet. Along with the halved amount of internal storage, we’re also getting less RAM at 512MB. All of this was done to bring the tablet down to just $200, a great price point if the want to compete with the Amazon Kindle Fire. And as for that storage, you won’t have to worry much about it considering you can expand that with a microSD card slot. The original Nook Color has been reduced to $170 if you want to save an extra $30 on an Android-based e-reader.

Yes, it's the time when all the rumors, photoshops and general hysteria around Apple's next slab reach its apex. The photo above was grabbed by the steady hand of sas126, a blurrycam snapper in name only, and posted to Chinese site Weiphone, purporting to be the logic board for the iPad 3. Big beautiful widgets, gorgeous fluid animations, intuitive UI — I have to admit, TSF Pro Shell will take some getting used to, but it should be jolly good time every step of the way.

Being nearly a mile from the main road, they cleared the windows to peer inside and were shocked to see a man huddled in a sleeping bag on the back seat.
