This notepad folio has a place for your smart phone

This notepad folio has a place for your smart phone

I've seen cases that combine a paper notepad with tablet storage, but the Carezza Phone Pocket Folio from Levenger is the first I've seen that has storage for a smart phone.  Carezza leather is buttery soft but strong, and it's available in the black or purple shown in the image (click for a better view).  Inside the folio, you'll find one of Levenger's ruled 90-gsm Freeleaf Notepads with the wide annotation margin that's perfect for showing action points or to-dos.  There are also slots for extra papers, cards, and a pen inside.  The folio is held closed by magnets; the closure “flap” is the smart phone case.

LG Optimus F7 Set To Arrive At Boost Mobile

LG Optimus F7 Set To Arrive At Boost Mobile

It was at Mobile World Congress earlier this year in February, that we were first treated to a view of the LG Optimus F7. Granted, it is "plain Janes" such as the LG Optimus F7 that will not receive that much attention from the masses, but this does not mean it is a handset to be overlooked in favor of flagship smartphones from other companies. In fact, the LG Optimus F7 does seem to shape up to be a decent mid-tier smartphone with specifications that would not make you blush, and it looks set to arrive on Boost Mobile – which is a network owned by the folks over at Sprint.

Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet 2 Review

Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet 2 Review

Lenovo unveiled its Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet 2 in August 2012, which would obviously be the latest version of their previously released ThinkPad Tablet. The company's first attempt at offering a tablet to its customers resulted in an Android-powered tablet that featured a 10.1-inch display, a dual-core NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor  and a few additional bells and whistles. With the Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet 2, the company decided to offer a tablet equipped with Windows 8 to help it appeal to more traditional PC users as the world of Android tablets could certainly scare and confuse the most dedicated computer user.

New York Police Get Help From Android Smartphones

All right, so New York's finest might not have a Lamborghini to drive around and catch baddies in, but they do have some tools to help them in the eternal battle against crime. One of the latest tools in the Police Department's crime-fighting arsenal would be a regular Android-powered smartphone, where approximately 400 phones have been distributed to officers to aid them in their patrol duty. For instance, an officer can type in a particular building's street address, where all it takes are just a few taps of the screen, and he will be greeted by a comprehensive collection of information right there in the palm of his hand.

Legendary, Iconic. And Improved. It is an undeniable reality that there are only so many adjectives to choose from when describing a given vehicle. Here are two that tend to be both overused and misused perhaps more than any other: legendary and iconic.

Forgive us for regaling you with these descriptors yet again, but when it comes to the 2013 Land Rover Range Rover, there simply aren't any words in the English language that can be applied to this sport utility vehicle that are as accurate and forceful as legendary and iconic.

Wife of VW paterfamilias Piëch up for Audi supervisory board

Wife of VW paterfamilias Piëch up for Audi supervisory board

In a move seen as yet another way for the controlling Piech-Porsche family to leverage its muscle over the continent's biggest automaker, Ursula Piech – wife of chairman Ferdinand Piëch – is set to join the Audi supervisory board at the annual shareholder's meeting on May 16. Putting Piëch's wife, a 56-year-old kindergarten teacher, on the board is seen as just a formality as the Piëch and Porsche families already control more than 90 percent of the Porsche SE holding company (owner of a majority of Volkswagen common stock).

Get style and gaming functionality with the Apex gaming keyboard

Style is not something that I think of when thinking of a keyboard. However, when I noticed the SteelSeries APEX gaming keyboard while browsing the web recently, that is exactly what I thought – stylish. There are five illumination zones that can each be customized from 16.8 million colors, and the layout of the keyboard looks simple and elegant. Diving in further, there is a layout of buttons designed for gamers, including small bumps to indicate where the W key is, 22 macro keys, two diagonal arrow keys, and my favorite, a key to disable the windows key.

In a way, you can say that advance care directives (ACDs for short) are legal documents which enable folks to inform others around them the quality of life that one is prepared to accept when in a coma, terminally ill, or do not have the capacity to speak for themselves. Since not too many people have ACDs at the moment, and even those who do hardly carry them around, clinicians are hence unable to access the patient's wishes should the patient end up in life threatening medical situations.

Drop In PC Shipments Linked To Windows 8 Flop

According to a report published by International Data Corp., first quarter global computer shipments dipped 14% as compared to last year. The decline is almost double than the forecasted figure, which was pegged at 7.7%. In fact this is the worst quarter for PC shipments since 1994 when the International Data Corp. started keeping track of quarterly PC shipments. Weak economy is not the only thing that is hurting PC sales, more and more customers are opting for mobile devices.

Gmail's 10th year is already underway, but it is interesting to look back and see how the service has evolved in all these years. Google has posted an infographic on the Gmail blog which depicts all of the changes.
It was back on the 1st of April, 2004 that Gmail was launched as an invite only beta webmail service. It offered users 1GB storage, the next year on its first birthday the storage was doubled to 2GB.

Hyundai recalling 186k Elantras due to possible headliner detachment

Following at least one reported incident of a man who claimed his ear was sliced in half following the deployment of his side airbag, Hyundai has announced a recall for certain model year 2011 through 2013 Elantras; specifically those manufactured from November 12, 2010 through March 5, 2013. In these Elantra models, a support bracket that is attached to the car's headliner may become dislodged when the side curtain airbag deploys. If that should happen, occupants may be in danger of a laceration injury by way of the flying bracket.

Foxconn Allegedly Fired Workers WIth Suicidal Tendencies

Foxconn Allegedly Fired Workers WIth Suicidal Tendencies

Foxconn is a company that has been mired in controversy in the past, where workers there must have had enough of their lot that they decided to end their lives at the place of their work, including jumping off the facility building. Well, this has led the company to install huge nets so that these nets would be able to prevent employees who jump to end their lives ending up as one big blot on the floor. We did hear that Foxconn has made an attempt to improve the workers' wages in an effort to keep them happy, but the latest rumor around Foxconn is particularly surprising, should it turn out to be true.

We had been hearing rumors over the past couple of weeks that Google Fiber was going to be expanded to Austin, Texas. The service was initially made available to Kansas City, even though Austin had campaigned to become Google Fiber's launch city. Various indicators emerged last week that indicated this forthcoming expansion, including an unfinished post regarding the same that went up on Google's blog prior to the official announcement, which has finally been made today. Austin Texas now joins the select few communities that have access to Google Fiber, these include Kansas City, Kansas and Missouri.

New Apple Job Listing Hints At Fingerprint Technology For Future Devices

Over the past few months we have heard a lot of rumors that the next generation iPhone could come with a fingerprint sensor under its Home button. Back in July last year the company acquired AuthenTec, a security software and fingerprint sensor chip company. It was reported that AuthenTec's patent portfolio was what drove Apple to acquire it, the portfolio could mean fingerprint scanners on future Apple devices. We then reported in September last year that AuthenTec was rumored to cut off all of its non-Apple customers in 2013.

Judge Rules That Checking Maps On Your Phone While Driving Is Illegal

Judge Rules That Checking Maps On Your Phone While Driving Is Illegal

Not all of us are willing or have the money to purchase a GPS unit for our cars, and there are still some car owners whose vehicles do not come with built-in GPS systems either, meaning that in some cases, we still need to use our phone to check Google Maps or other GPS apps to find our way around unfamiliar areas. Naturally this can be pretty dangerous and it seems that a Californian judge thinks so as well and has made it clear that driving while checking maps on your phone is considered illegal. Basically the judge viewed the checking of maps as equivalent of using a phone while driving, hence the ruling.

Thousands of cars, bikes and trucks will converge at Lime Rock racetrack next weekend to benefit those who were affected by last year's Sandy Hook Elementary school shooting. But this isn't just a local event, as more than 2,800 riders will be traveling to the event in convoys from as far away as Texas to support the cause. George "Spikes" LeGrice, of Massachusetts, is credited with organizing the event that all started coming together after LeGrice launched a Facebook page (Spikes Ride for Sandy Hook) to bring attention to his cause.
