With the demise of the Lotus Elise in the United States, the Tesla Roadster's fate was sealed. With no chassis rolling out of Hethel, Tesla had to end production of the Roadster and shift its focus to the Model S and the just-revealed Model X. But some kind of Roadster successor has always been in the cards and as Tesla's SEC filings revealed two years ago, the new sports car was supposed to arrive next year. But according to Elon Musk, the release of the next Tesla Roadster could be as far as four years away.

If you had a PC-DOS computer back in the 1980s you'd probably remember DONKEY.BAS. It is a game written in BASIC and was included with early versions of the PC-DOS operating system. In case it doesn't ring a bell, the screenshot on the right should jog some memories. What's interesting about the game that not many people know is that it was co-written by Bill Gates, the co-founder of Microsoft.

Pictures of a mysterious HTC droid have popped up today. It looks much like the Incredible 2, runs on the latest Android version - the Ice Cream sandwich and features LTE connectivity. Judging by the boot logo it should be a Verizon-bound smartphone. The specs are up to date - there is a dual-core 1.2GHz processor, 1GB RAM, an 8 megapixel rear camera and a VGA front one. According to the source, the screen should be an AMOLED one instead of the HTC's traditional S-LCD.

As we said, the device is LTE-capable, it runs on Android 4.0.1 Ice Cream Sandwich and features the latest HTC Sense UI 4.0.

PSA: Rooted Android devices with Google Wallet vulnerable to ‘brute-force' PIN attacks

Security hounds over at zvelo have discovered a vulnerability in Google Wallet that means your precious PIN can be “easily revealed.” Digging through the app's code and using Google's open resources to reveal its contents, they uncovered a piratical treasure trove of data: unique user IDs, Google account information, and the PIN stored as a SHA256 hex-encoded string. Since this string is known to carry four digits, it only takes a “trivial” brute-force attack involving a maximum of 10,000 calculations to decode it.

Instead, we will look at Foxconn experiencing a security breach after hackers mounted protests over iPhone factory conditions, and this happened after login details of its roster of staff were revealed.

The video series from our colleagues at AOL Autos took a trip to Europe and managed to score the very first drive of the Lightning GT before anyone else. Not even Top Gear has sat in this thing and it's being developed in their backyard.

The specs for the car as they stand today are 400 horsepower from its electric motor powering the rear wheels for a 0-60 time of around 4.5 seconds and a maximum range of 150 miles.

Why did Honda kill its best performance engine?

Why did Honda kill its best performance engine?

The performance profile of the turbo four may have doomed it to being merely a footnote in Honda's illustrious history. The 2.3-liter turbo was a variation of the 2.4-liter four used in the Honda Accord and the Acura TSX. Rated at 240 horsepower, it was the 260 lb-ft of torque that made things special. Honda's traditional approach to engine design had favored high-revving, small displacement engines that made generous power thanks to variable valve timing technologies – but at the expense of torque output.

Can smartphone vendors survive with Apple and Samsung dominating the industry?

. Apple and Samsung are in the midst of a patent-fueled war with no end in site, but the pair has also inadvertently joined forces to make it increasingly difficult for other vendors to continue making smartphones. New estimates suggest Apple and Samsung combined to take in a staggering 95% of smartphone industry profits in the fourth quarter of 2011. The figures paint an even bleaker picture for the rest of the players in the smartphone business than earlier estimates; UBS analyst Maynard Um said last week that Apple and Samsung's combined take amounted to 90% of smartphone industry profits.

The last Symbian device might be the greatest camera phones ever!

How good can phone cameras be right. They're made for mobile, everything has shrunk down to size, they don't have all the fancy features your normal cameras do and they usually only look good on the screen because the images have been shrunk to fit the tiny display and all the flaws are hidden. Well, not really; Nokia plans to change that mindset by fitting in the largest camera sensor to its rumored device - the Nokia 803. Running on Symbian, yes the old Symbian OS you thought had died, the Nokia N8 successor (rumored) is reported to feature a 4" AMOLED display, 1GHz processor, HDMI-out, microSIM, DLNA and NFC.

LED traffic light helps colorblind drivers on the road

LED traffic light helps colorblind drivers on the road

There are some of us who are colorblind, and in this case, we might not be able to tell whether a traffic light is red, amber or green – but after a while, we get used to the sequence of the traffic lights, and follow them accordingly. Professor Taro Ochiai of Japan's Kyushu Sangyo University might be on to something here, where his imagination resulted in a redesigned LED traffic light that can be seen by everyone – colorblind or not. After all, Red-green colorblindness is the most common type of colorblindness, which affects up to 10% of the worldwide population, and LED signals might be the solution to solving the equation.
