Twitter experienced two service outages

Social network/micro blogging site Twitter has confirmed that a couple of service outages had already happened several hours ago, as users around the world did report about a rather significant down-time – not to mention slow service across Twitter's website in addition to its mobile application. There were whispers going around that speculated the downtime was crippled by a hacker attack, although the company claimed that the outage was due to a “cascading bug” in one of its infrastructure components.

As the great Tom Petty once said, you don't haveto live like a refugee, but one UN agency is hoping you'll at least download its new app to see what it could be like. My Life as a Refugee is designed to raise awareness about the plight of millions of people living in conflict-ridden places around the globe, and it's available right now for free on Android (coming soon to iOS). We found the app to be only marginally interactive, with users simply encouraged to click through a litany of facts. However, you do get to choose one of two possible options before time runs out as each situation unfolds.

Last we'd heard of HP's Project Moonshot, that effort to create low-energy servers was set to ride on the back of the Calxeda SoC. But for the rollout of its production-ready "Gemini" models, the company's changed tack, replacing the previously announced ARM chips for Intel's Centerton. Why the sudden swap. Well, it seems that new Atom processor delivers the same energy-sipping promise of its predecessor, while also adding 64-bit support, a broader software ecosystem, error correcting code memory and hardware virtualization.

Forgoing the usual succession of variants and upgrades, the launch of an all-new Ferrari is typically a momentous occasion. Particularly when you're talking about Maranello's top-of-the-line V12 supercar. And yet, since the Prancing Horse marque unveiled the new F12 Berlinetta several months ago in Geneva, we've heard and seen little of the 740-horsepower monster. Which could be why we took notice when we came across this new video clip of the F12 lapping the Fiorano test track for which its predecessor was named.

Dutch court rules that Apple's older iOS products violated one of Samsung's 3G patents

Earlier today, we reported that the Court of Appeals had denied Samsung's request to rehear their case. What this meant was that Apple was in the clear to file for a preliminary injunction against the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, thus giving Apple a victory at this point in time. While Apple might have gotten a taste of a legal victory in the states, it seems that the Dutch courts have ruled in Samsung's favor over a different case against Apple. A District Court n Hague, Holland, has ruled that Apple's older iPad models and iPhones violate one of Samsung's 3G patents.

The Intellinet Wireless 450N Dual-Band Gigabit Router and Wireless 300N Dual-Band USB Adapter are two high-performance, if somewhat bare-bones dual band MIMO 802.11n devices from Intellinet Network Solutions. For this review I swapped out my existing 802.11n router for the Intellinet 450N and tested its performance with a number of different clients. To test the 300N USB adapter I compared its performance to the built-in wireless on a Acer netbook with a single antenna 802.11n 2.4ghz radio. 450N Router Unbox

The router comes with an install CD, quick start guide, a short Ethernet patch cord, some rubber feet, and a wall-wart.
