Antares Luxury Smartphone Unveiled

Antares Luxury Smartphone Unveiled

If there's one drawback to a luxury phone is that apart from its premium materials on the outside, typically under the hood there's really not much to boast about. We've seen companies such as Vertu and Tag Heuer release luxury phones in the past, and now joining them would be the Antares, a smartphone designed by the folks at the Tonino Lamborghini Group hailing from Italy, who pride themselves in the creation of luxury accessories.

Nissan NV200 recalled over wiring harness

Nissan NV200 recalled over wiring harness

The Nissan NV200, the van that's meant to act as the backbone of the New York City taxi fleet, is being recalled. Compared to some of the recalls we've seen this year, the 2,529 NV200s needing repairs is not a particularly huge deal – but try telling that to their inconvenienced owners and drivers. The recall affects NVs built between February 6, 2013, and August 2, 2013. The vans in question use a wiring harness near the battery that may wear through its protective covering, causing a short.

Samsung Galaxy S5 will not have OIS camera

Samsung Galaxy S5 will not have OIS camera

Before the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 came out there were rumors that it will have a camera with optical image stabilization (OIS). It didnÂ't and rumors had it that it was due to the insufficient supply of stabilized modules in time for the launch. Then there were a couple of OIS-enabled cameras linked to Samsung – a 13MP one and a 16MP one – with speculations coming that they'll be used on the Galaxy S5. Not so fast, says Korean publication ETNews. Apparently, the next Galaxy S flagship will not have OIS due to a number of issues.

Google Announces New And Personalized Map Embed

When researching reviews on a particular restaurant or shop, or when looking for hotels to stay overseas, typically these websites will have Google Maps (or Bing Maps) embedded there which allows visitors to get a better idea of where the establishment is located. However the look and feel of these embedded maps are considered to be somewhat outdated, especially compared to the new look of Google Maps available from its website. Well the good news is that Google has announced that they will be rolling out a new Google Maps embed that webmasters will be able to embed into their websites in the future.

Apple's iOS Platform Nets Developers Five Times More Revenue Than Android

Apple's iOS Platform Nets Developers Five Times More Revenue Than Android

Last we heard, Android is currently dominating the smartphone market and it looks like that is a trend that does not appear to be slowing down, thanks to Android's open source system that allows a variety of manufacturers to create devices without having to pay any licensing fee to Google. With that being said, shouldn't developers be more interested in developing for Android since it has a much larger user base.

Counterfeit iPhone Charger Claims Another Life In Thailand

Over the past few months we have reported about several incidents in which people used counterfeit iPhone chargers only to get injured or worse, lose their lives. Counterfeit chargers are widespread particular in the South East Asia region, and the latest report of a similar incident comes in from Thailand. A 28 year old man in the Chanthaburi province of Thailand was found dead clutching an iPhone 4S which was plugged into a wall socket through an unofficial charger. The man's chest and left hand reportedly had scorch marks, and so did the device itself.

The Robot Girl iPhone Dock Is Creepy And Expensive

The Robot Girl iPhone Dock Is Creepy And Expensive

iPhone docks come in all shapes and sizes, but we reckon the Robot Girl iPhone dock probably takes the cake. Basically the Robot Girl iPhone dock is a 46" tall robot that has been shaped and designed to look like a robotic woman, and there are gaps and openings all over her body where LED lights are emitted and even pulsated whenever music is played. The head of the Robot Girl will even bop slightly when music is played and given her overall stance, it almost looks like she could be a model walking down a very futuristic runway.

BiblioTech Is The US' First Bookless Public Library

BiblioTech Is The US' First Bookless Public Library

Libraries for the most part contain books, actual physical books, although with technology becoming more integrated into our lives, libraries have introduced computers and to a certain extent, e-books as well, but it looks like the BiblioTech library in San Antonio, Texas, is looking to shake things up as it is the first and only public bookless library in America. This was the brainchild of Bexar County Judge, Nelson Wolff, who ironically enough is a collector of first-print editions books, and at one point in time also pushed for a print-only library.

Ford says utility vehicles are key to global growth

Ford says utility vehicles are key to global growth

While most of us believe that small, fuel efficient cars are the key to global expansion for US automakers, Jim Farley, Ford's vice president of Global Marketing, thinks otherwise. Last week, we attended an exclusive sneak preview of the Ford Edge Concept in advance of the Los Angeles Auto Show, and Farley told us that it's actually utility vehicles that will help the Blue Oval gain market share overseas. "There is no other segment in our industry that is growing like utilities," he said. "We expect over the next five years this full family of [utility] vehicles to really drive our growth as a company.".

T-Mobile Galaxy S4 gets Android 4.3 upgrade; Samsung plans Galaxy Gear upgrade for improved notifications

Joining a long line of Samsung phones getting Android 4.3 Jelly Bean recently is T-Mobile's variant of the Samsung Galaxy S4. The upgrade is rolling out over-the-air starting today, and will bring the premium suite upgrades we've talked so much about before. This includes improvements to the camera, support for the Samsung Galaxy Gear smart watch, minor tweaks to TouchWiz and more. The 781 megabyte update file means you'll want to hit up a WiFi access point before pulling this thing down, and getting your battery charged to about 50% isn't such a bad idea, either.

iPhone 5s Supply Nearly Equals Demand Now In The U.S.

The iPhone 5s was launched back in September to high demand. Throughout this entire year we had been keeping up with an endless string of rumors about Apple's latest iPhone, and when it finally came out, customers certainly wanted one for themselves. Apple has certainly been trying its best to meet demand, however back in October a survey of 60 Apple Retail Stores in the U.S. revealed that only 10 percent had the latest iPhone in stock. Things are looking much better now, according to Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster. His recent checks of the 60 U.S.

Lamborghini takes Veneno out to play on wet Vallelunga (video)

With only four examples in existence, you're not very likely to ever see a Lamborghini Veneno roaming your local highways and byways. That's what makes this clip a little out of the ordinary. Lamborghini brought the super-rare supercar out to the Vallelunga circuit near Rome for the World Finals of its Super Trofeo series, where, incidentally, American driver Andrew Palmer beat out the competition from Europe and Asia to claim the world title.

Chrysler stays IPO until 2014

There will not be a Chrysler IPO in 2013. Fiat, according to a report from Forbes, has announced that it will not be able to make the American brand's initial public offering before the end of the year, saying that the short, five-week window that makes up the rest of 2013 is "not practicable.". Not surprisingly, the issue with the Chrysler IPO is the same as it's always been - a disagreement between parent company Fiat, which owns 58.5 percent of the Chrysler Group and a UAW healthcare trust, which owns 41.5 percent.

Need For Speed gets the full-length trailer treatment

Need For Speed gets the full-length trailer treatment

Does there need to be a Need For Speed movie. Isn't the video game franchise enough. We would submit, no and yes, respectively and respectfully. Need doesn't enter in to the equation however, and it seems as though Hollywood believes that its high time The Fast and the Furious stopped hogging all those cheezy-car-movie dollars to itself.
And, to be fair, we'll probably go see this. For starters, Aaron Paul is among our favorite two-first-name actors. Second, based on this one-liner-laden trailer, we get a sense that this ode to special effects and high-dollar cars will make for a good popcorn flick at the very least.
