Cincinnati Bell Releases Froyo for the Motorola XT720, Includes Root Access and Titanium Backup

Cincinnati Bell didn't wait around for Motorola to issue their OEM upgrade to Android 2.2 for the Milestone XT720. Instead they have released their own ROM for installation on the device, and in an unprecedented move for a carrier they have included the tools you will need to root your freshly updated handset. In fact, it looks like the only way to install the update is by first rooting your device before flashing the ROM. Included is an Android Commander program that utilizes SuperOneClick to grant super user access and includes Titanium Backup.
Correct me if I am wrong, but we have never seen anything quite like this before.

Razer trots out Transformers 3 Edition DeathAdder, Vespula and laptop case

After what we're guessing was a fruitful tie-up with Tron, the fine folks at Razer are back at a similar well; this time, the company's dishing out a limited run of gear that's been splashed with color and branding from the upcoming Michael Bay train wreck blockbuster, Transformers 3. I guess everyone wants to milk something out of Shia Labeouf and Bumblebee. Outside of being doused with red, yellow, silver and purple paint, the special edition DeathAdder mice ($69.99 a pop) are identical to the version already on the market.

Actually, you just need to buy it and read the code printed on the cup, text in said code, and wait to be instantly notified of whether or not you are the proud new owner of a fancy Android tablet.

Tag Heuer Link Smartphone Brings Other Luxury Phones to Shame

If you have a famous luxury brand that wants to venture into the smartphone business, that product better be worth the hefty cost. We have encountered luxury smartphones that are more of a joke because its specs are at par, even lower in some cases, with current yet cheaper smartphones. Watch maker Tag Heuer has announced its Link Smart Phone, which is apparently their second mobile phone, and has explained in great lengths why it is worth the $6,700 initial price tag. The Android-powered Link is ruggedly designed so that it would withstand accidents, whether it is dropped to the ground or the backyard pool.

Review: 2011 Acura TSX Sport Wagon

Station wagons are a bit like free dinners. Your parents appreciate them, auto journalists love them and nobody buys them. It's that last trait that's led to the near extinction of the family wagon, save for a few luxury rigs, a . The Acura TSX Sport Wagon may be brand-new to the U.S., but under its newly shaped sheetmetal is the same. That's a lot of kit for $3,650, but the plethora of tech options won't entice the luxury car buyer if the exterior doesn't look great. It helps that the TSX wears Acura's corporate beak more convincing than most of its its larger, more expensive siblings.

Pen Draws Working Circuits With Silver Ink

Pen Draws Working Circuits With Silver Ink

The pen draws wires on paper with silver ink. Photo: Bok Yeop Ahn. Professors Jennifer Lewis and Jennifer Bernhard at the University of Illinois have come up with a way to draw circuits with a pen.
Not circuit diagrams. Any old pen can do that. No, the pen is a rollerball with silver ink that can actually draw real, working circuits. The ink dries to leave silver trails behind on the paper, and these are tough enough to survive bends and folds and still conduct electricity. And it doesn't need to be paper.

Apple issuing refunds for Final Cut Pro X

Of course, over here we're no videographer, and we already look so professional by simply fiddling around Photoshop resizing photos and adding some effects. Simple program like iMovie don't even fits my needs and I only know how to make videos using the iPhone with 720p, and that's all. But for those of you whose livelihood depends on your video editing software and making wedding videos or commercial ad videos using your 5Dmk2 or even your RED EPIC camera, iMovie just isn't going to cut it.

The 2011 Kia Optima Hybrid is a rather handsome beast that looks just like its non-battery-pack-carrying siblings – at least at first. Tattoo Machine Foot Switch Used As TeamSpeak Button

Tattoo Machine Foot Switch Used As TeamSpeak Button

Computer gamers who play games online should be well aware of the software known as Teamspeak, which would allow players to communicate with each other via spoken audio. For Patrick Norton, an avid gamer of the game World of Warcraft, the push-to-talk feature of Teamspeak just wasn't cutting it for him. Push-to-talk would require the user to press a button that has been bound to the Teamspeak software, in order to activate communications. Unlike Skype where the microphone is continuously running, push-to-talk would cut back on background noises, and users would activate it only when they had something to share.

Aqua Washbasin Is Not Only Hygienic, It Also Saves Water

Did you know that only 1% of the earth's water is actually drinkable. That's a shockingly low percentage. Also not all water is usable in our daily lives, which include bathing, cooking, and cleaning, which is why governments in many countries around the world have launched campaigns aimed at water conservation. In some countries, different housing areas will experience water cuts for a few hours in an attempt to help regulate the use of water.

Nissan announces radical “Power 88″ business plan, all-new vehicles every six weeks for six years

Carlos Ghosn has announced the Nissan Power 88 midterm business plan, effective immediately, containing goals that will raise a number of eyebrows. Built on four pillars emphasizing “brand and sales power enhancement, growth, sustainable mobility and mobility for all,” Power 88 is in effect from now until 2016, at the end of which time Nissan wants eight percent of global market share and eight-percent operating profit (hence the “88″). That would represent a 2.2-percent increase in market share and a 1.9-percent rise in operating profit versus last year's levels.

Supreme Court rejects violent video game law

Supreme Court rejects violent video game law

On Monday, the United States Supreme Court rejected a law that would make it illegal for video game stores and publishers to sell or rent violent video games to minors. The law, which was adopted in 2005 and rejected in a 7-2 vote, was deemed unconstitutional and against freedom of speech rights. According to Reuters, a number of big players in the gaming industry opposed the law, including the Entertainment Software Association, whose ranks include Sony, Microsoft, EA, and Disney. “Our cases hold that minors are entitled to a significant degree of First Amendment protection,” Justice Antonin Scalia said.

UK students' 1,980 MPG car scores first place in marathon race, you wish they're street legal

A car that looks like the one above and gets the “equivalent” of 1,980 miles to the gallon (and one gallon only) is certainly impressive enough on its own, but it's all the more so when you consider that it's driven by a 14-year-old and built by his classmates (with a little assistance, of course, they had no license anyway). This particular vehicle hails from Kingdown School in Wiltshire, England, and it won the recent Mallory Park Mileage Marathon by a margin of more than 1,000 MPG over its next closest competitor.

Root-Free Gingerbread RUU Leaks for the Droid Incredible 2

Root-Free Gingerbread RUU Leaks for the Droid Incredible 2

A leaked build of Gingerbread for the HTC Droid Incredible 2 has reached the developer underground and is ready for installation on non-rooted devices. That is correct, sir. This leaked RUU file presents one of the rare instances where pre-release software is better suited for installation on root-free Android handsets than on devices modified from their stock software. The flashable update isn’t compatible with currently rooted Droid Incredible 2 handsets. A pre-rooted version of the software exists but is of little value to Incredible 2 users until the AlphaRevX team goes public with their root method.

Tell The Time With This Faceless Watch

Tell The Time With This Faceless Watch

Watches are an essential accessory in our everyday lives. Not only do they help tell the time and date, watches can also help to create an image, so for example if you are a high flying CEO, a watch like Patek or Rolex will definitely say something about who you are and the kind of job that you do. Watches like Casio's G-Shock probably indicates that you're more about street fashion, or perhaps you're just an athlete who wants a rugged watch that won't get damaged when dropped. So, what does the Faceless Watch say about you.

PossessedHand Takes Control of Your Hand, Freaks You Out

It's creepy and it's kooky, mysterious and spooky, it's all together ooky. If technology by researchers at the University of Tokyo ever ends up as a commercial product, then you could have the terrifying experience of your hand being possessed, moving itself without any commands from your own brain. You would, for all intents and purposes, become Bruce Campbell's Ashley ‘Ash' J. Williams in The Evil Dead.

The experimental device is actually called the PossessedHand, and controls your digits by shooting small electric currents into your wrist via electrodes strapped to your forearm.
