Have swallows evolved shorter wingspans to avoid cars?

Have swallows evolved shorter wingspans to avoid cars?

A new study by biologists at the University of Tulsa and the University of Nebraska at Lincoln presents evidence to suggest that cliff swallows in southwestern Nebraska may be suffering fewer incidence of collision with cars, thanks to shorter wings. According to Current Biology, researchers Charles Brown and Mary Bomberger Brown have been paying close attention to the swallow population in this particular section of Nebraska. They've found that the birds measured now have shorter wings than did the birds that were first studied back in 1982.

With 75 years of production under its belt and some 21 million units unleashed on the world, odds are everyone knows someone with a Beetle. The crew at Petrolicious has finally gotten around to paying homage to the ubiquitous rear-engine German machine in its latest video, Kindred Spirits. The clip puts a close eye on Stephan Ruiz's über-clean 1967 Beetle.

2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class caught totally undisguised

Based on the lightly camouflaged spy shots of the 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class we've seen lately, it hasn't taken a vivid imagination to picture what the next iteration of this big luxury sedan will look like. Even so, we now we have our first unobstructed views of the redesigned S-Class, codenamed W222, as it has just been caught out flaunting for some promo shots. The first thing we notice about the new S-Class design is the disappearance of the last generation's flared wheel arches.

Samsung Believes The Future Is In The Soul Of the Device, Not The Form Factor

The Samsung Galaxy S4 was recently announced and yes, for those who missed it, the design is reminiscent of the Galaxy S3 and it comes with a plastic body. There are valid reasons as to why a plastic body was chosen by Samsung, namely because unlike glass that shatters when it drops, plastic is a bit more flexible, not to mention cheaper to produce as well.

Google Keep Might Be A New Google Service

Google Keep Might Be A New Google Service

Out with the old, and in with the new. Granted, Google Reader is an RSS reader, and what we are going to focus on here would be Google Keep, a potential note taking service that will most probably be in the same vein as Evernote or Pocket, and it has also been given the codename “Memento” that definitely sheds more light on what the entire shebang is all about. Google did leave some digital "bread crumbs" behind, such as the URL https://drive.google.com/keep/ which incidentally, directs you to a fake “Page Not Found”, while the URL http://g.co/keep sends you to a non-existent Play Store app.
