This portable USB charging hub includes a battery

This portable USB charging hub includes a battery

A couple of years ago, I reviewed the Aviiq Portable Charging Station (see related posts).  This was an $80 gadget that kept your charging cables organized in the same pouch that carried a powered USB hub that let you charge multiple devices simultaneously from a single wall outlet.  This was nice, but it lacked an internal battery for charging up your devices when you weren't near an outlet.  Aviiq‘s new Felt Portable Charging Folio with Battery gives you everything the charging station I reviewed has, plus an internal 5200mAh backup battery.

Audioengine moves their A2 speaker into the plus category

Audioengine doesn't know when to leave well-enough alone. Case-in-point: Their A2 speakers were just about the perfect size and rating for desktop use, and consumers obviously agreed because they have sold quite well. Even so, Audioengine figured they could do better, so they've introduced the new A2+ powered desktop speakers. These mini-powerhouses have been substantially upgraded from the original A2s, featuring an on-board digital-to-analog converter (DAC), upgraded speaker connectors, standard threaded inserts for wall mounts, an upgraded power supply, and accessory cables.

Chevrolet Corvette concept duo is our kind of East Coast-West Coast battle

Chevrolet Corvette concept duo is our kind of East Coast-West Coast battle

Car culture on each coast of the US has historically been markedly different, and Chevrolet aims to show some of the differences with a pair of Corvette concepts at SEMA. Representing the East Coast is the Corvette Stingray Convertible Atlantic concept, while the Corvette Stingray Coupe Pacific concept has the West Coast flair. The Corvette Pacific concept (shown above) starts with the performance-oriented Z51 package and shows off the more custom look of West Coast car designs with its Torch Red paint contrasted with black rocker extensions and a front splitter.

Lenovo May Have Bought BlackBerry Had Canadian Government Not Put Its Foot Down

Lenovo May Have Bought BlackBerry Had Canadian Government Not Put Its Foot Down

The speculation about BlackBerry's sale finally ended yesterday when the company announced that it is no longer actively seeking a buyer, instead it has received a $1 billion investment from one of its largest shareholders and other institutional investors. A rather interesting report has surfaced today, courtesy of The Globe and Mail, suggesting that China's Lenovo was actively considering buying the ailing Canadian manufacturer, but the Canadian government wasn't too fond of the idea and it put its foot down. Over the past few months, it was rumored multiple times that Lenovo was very interested in bidding for BlackBerry.

Aura Smart Dock Lets You Safely Use Your Smartphone While Driving

Aura Smart Dock Lets You Safely Use Your Smartphone While Driving

There is a reason why cellphone usage in a car is illegal if its not hooked up to a hands-free system, the driver is easily distracted if they're driving while texting, tweeting, talking or taking a picture and this can cause fatal accidents. The Aura smart dock aims to let you snap, shoot, talk and text using your Android smartphone while driving, without having to hold it in your hands. It comes with a wireless remote and converts an Android smartphone into an in-vehicle console. The interface is simple, making it as easy to control as the car radio.

Nikon DF Photos Leaked, Spotted On Amazon For $2,746.95 Body-Only

We have been hearing about the Nikon DF for a while now, with the camera supposedly being Nikon's attempt at a mirrorless hybrid camera with a full-frame sensor, similar to what Sony has done with their recently announced A7 and A7R devices. While the camera has yet to be officially announced, it seems that photos and a listing on Amazon have made their way online.

Former F1 players sign on for Formula E

Former F1 players sign on for Formula E

Formula E is set to become the Formula One of electric car racing, and the organizers have wasted no time setting a 10-race calender for 2014 and courting top F1 teams to invest in the new series. The efforts have paid off, with several teams, including some with F1 connections, already committed to the race series. In recent weeks, two more teams with strong F1 ties have announced their participation in Formula E, for a total of six. Four-time F1 champ Alain Prost announced a partnership with Jean-Paul Driot, founder of GP2 and Formula Renault 3.5 team Dams, to enter Formula E as team e.dams.

Samsung 12.2 Inch Tablet's Production Expected To Begin At Year's End

Samsung 12.2 Inch Tablet's Production Expected To Begin At Year's End

We have time and again that Samsung is developing a 12.2 inch tablet, but the company is yet to confirm if such a tablet really is going to be released at some point in time. Obviously its too soon for Samsung to confirm the existence of this tablet, even when it apparently hasn't even entered the production stage as yet. The latest from infamous Taiwanese trade publication, Digitimes, claims that Samsung will kick off production of its 12.2 inch tablet by the end of this year.

Nokia 'Illusionist' 8 Inch Windows RT Tablet Rumored

. Nokia finally jumped into the tablet game when it announced the Windows RT 8.1 powered Nokia Lumia 2520 last month. The tablet has a 10 inch display and packs quite a powerful package under the hood, and while it is yet to be released, rumors have already started circulating about Nokia working on another tablet. This one is apparently codenamed “Illusionist,” and is said to have an 8 inch display.

Trusty Twitter leaker @evleaks is behind the first rumor of Nokia's “Illusionist” Windows RT 8.1 powered tablet.

Android 4.3 for Samsung Galaxy S III leaks

Android 4.3 for Samsung Galaxy S III leaks

Samsung has committed to bringing Android 4.3 Jelly Bean to its Galaxy S III former flagship and the rollout should start in a few weeksÂ' time. If you know your way around flashing a ROM manually, though, you donÂ't even have to wait that long as a pre-release version of the Android 4.3 build has just surfaced. The beta version is reportedly stable enough to work as a daily driver, although it may have a bug or two. It brings a number of UI changes, including a new settings menu with tabbed interface as found on more recent Samsung flagships.

[Video] See Android KitKat's amazing photo editor in action

It isn't going to be just the Nexus 5 users who are going to benefit from Google's emphasis on photography in their latest flagship device: as it turns out, the camera app, which is part of AOSP, comes with a photo editor which in my opinion is one of the most powerful ones ever. While it offers a significant number of preset filters for the casual user, there are numerous options for those who want finer control, and also allows them to save their combination of effects as a preset that they can reuse on different images later on. The editor is also non-destructive (i.e., your originals are safe).
