Wii U January Sales Predicted At Nearly 55,000 Units

Wii U January Sales Predicted At Nearly 55,000 Units

During the Nintendo Wii U's launch week in the U.S., Nintendo announced it sold 400,000 units of its next-generation console, but it looks like in post-holiday sales it hasn't been keeping up with its launch-week momentum as a new report is showing the Wii U isn't selling so great these days. This past January, the Wii U only sold only 57,000 units in the U.S. Those sales numbers aren't coming from Nintendo, as we're sure they'd be embarrassed to report that number, instead, they're coming from an unnamed source who is said to have access to numbers from the NPD Group.

Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Accidentally Revealed In Promotional Ad

Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Accidentally Revealed In Promotional Ad

We know Samsung is working on an 8-inch tablet in the Galaxy Note family which we have a feeling will be making its debut at MWC later this month. Three variants are expected when Samsung finally unveils the device and we've seen photos of the device leaked on the Internet, but the company may have just ruined its own reveal by possibly leaking the Galaxy Note 8.0 in a promotional image. The origins of the possible leak came from yesterday's announcement of making a red Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 LTE available just in time for Valentine's Day.

Chevrolet Introduces 'Smart Material' In The 2014 Corvette

Chevrolet Introduces 'Smart Material' In The 2014 Corvette

Chevrolet has made great efforts to use new technology in its cars. And in a bid to reduce weight in the Corvette, the company has announced it will be using a lightweight shape memory alloy wire to replace motorized components used to open and close a hatch release vent. So what exactly does this lightweight shape memory alloy wire do. Basically it's a wire made from copper-aluminum-nickel or nickel-titanium.  The wire's chemistry allows it to change its shape when subjected to heat, electric current or pressure.

Jawbone MyTalk Experiences Limited Hack

Jawbone has announced that a small number of accounts had been compromised by cyber-attacks. The company did not mention how many, but did use the word “limited” to describe the scope of the attack. In any case, some user data (email, password, address) may have been stolen,  but Jawbone doesn't think that more than that was accessed.

US President Obama Announces “Made in USA” Macs

President Barack Obama gave a shout-out to Apple during his latest State of the Union address, in reference to American companies adding more domestic jobs during his administration. “After shedding jobs for more than 10 years, our manufacturers have added about 500,000 jobs over the past three,” the United States president declared. “This year, Apple will start making Macs in America again.”.
It is no wonder why Apple's CEO Tim Cook was sitting next to First Lady Michelle Obama during the whole speech.

Verizon HTC Droid DNA Receives Update To Improve Connectivity & More

The HTC Droid DNA released this past November, and we liked it for its ability to offer a full HD screen experience right in the palm of your hand. It did have a few issues, but Verizon is planning to roll out an update for the device that will hopefully help with its growing pains. Verizon published a blog post earlier today where they promise to update the HTC Droid DNA that will have its users benefitting from both better connectivity of its hotspot, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connections and additional functions.

Vertu's First Android Luxury Phone Unveiled

Vertu is back with vengeance. The luxury mobile phone brand, which used to be wholly-owned by Nokia before selling a majority stake to private equity group EQT VI in October 2012, brings out its first Android-powered phone. Costing 7,900 euros (about US$10,587), the Vertu Ti comes with sapphire glass display with 800 x 480 resolution, a 1.5GHz processor, and a 1,250mAh battery; all encased in a tough titanium frame. There is one thing absent from this luxury phone: 4G connectivity.

“Vertu will never be at the bleeding edge of technology,” Vertu's head of design Hutch Hutchison bluntly told BBC.

Children regularly exposed to inappropriate online adverts

- 75 per cent of UK parents think that children see inappropriate content through online advertisements* - Children as young as five are being exposed to online advertisements and pop-up adverts that contain adult content such as gambling, dating services, as well as sexualised imagery, according to Till Faida, co-founder of Adblock Plus. Online adverts are often embedded on websites from other sources, making it unlikely that web filters (the primary way many parents protect their children online) will pick up on them.
