McLaren MP4-12C totalled during Goldrush Rally

McLaren MP4-12C totalled during Goldrush Rally

Every year in the Goldush Rally, a convoy of high-end luxury cars snake across the States, their occupants enjoying all the opulence their $14,000 entry fees can afford. As our own Michael Harley can attest, it's a low-speed affair, not an all-out speed-fest. As the rally passed through Texas headed through Dallas on Thursday, Hsinho Chen of Massachusetts, driving a McLaren MP4-12C Spider, says he swerved into the highway median to avoid a truck that had pulled in front of him.

Robot Milks Cows On Farm

Robot Milks Cows On Farm

I am quite sure that one of the more endearing and lasting images of a farm that we have seen to date is not Ol' McDonald and his animals, but rather, someone sitting on a small stool while chatting away to the cow way before the dawn is awakened, milking said cow in a rhythmic and soothing manner. Well, we are now in the 21st century, and if you were to drop by the barn at Farr Farm in Richmond, you would notice that the dairy cows with full udders who are housed there would be queueing up to be milked throughout the day and night.

Munitio SV Earphone Mobile Performance Earphones review

Munitio SV Earphone Mobile Performance Earphones review

The market is flooded with all sorts of quality, mid-range priced earphones. It seems that every brand has its gimmick, including the company that sent me their latest headphone to review. Munitio may be better known for their 9mm shell casing and bass-boosted earphones, but the SV Mobile Performance Earphones have a more traditional look, with great sound and nice features. Click any image for an enlarged view.
Now, don't get me wrong, I have no issue with bass-boosted headphones in general, but in my opinion not all music benefits from such enhancement.

Nikon: 80 Million Nikkor Lenses And Counting

Today is a day of milestones, where we did learn that WhatsApp actually processes a whopping 27 billion messages in a single 24 hour window on average, and as for Nikon, they have hit the 80 million mark when it comes to the production of Nikkor lenses. Do take stock of the situation and know that the first Aero-NIKKOR lens which was specially designed for aerial photography was originally released all the way back in 1933. Well, could it hit the century million mark by the time Nikon's Nikkor lenses celebrate their centenary year.

Antec to extend its Bluetooth product range with Pulse, SP1+, SP3 and SPzero (hands-on)

For those seeking something more powerful, Antec will be offering the larger SP3 Bluetooth boombox. This device also comes with NFC, but unlike the SP1+, it lacks stereo streaming as it doesn't use CSR's Bluetooth solution (it uses ISSC's instead), plus there's probably not much need for this feature on such a large speaker. On the bright side, the SP3 scores some brownie points by letting you use NFC to both wake and pair it up simultaneously, whereas the SP1+ needs you to flick on its power switch first.

The Unu ships in two configurations, both of which include the tablet, dock, HDMI cable and a remote. The higher end Gaming Edition also adds a carrying case and a wireless game controller. Like the tablet itself, the controller and remote are still in the early stages, and the company promised to add a little weight to the plasticky controller. The remote is two-sided, with navigation buttons and devoted Android keys on one side. On the other, you'll find a QWERTY keyboard. The controller features two analog sticks and triggers and a trio of Android buttons on the bottom.

The upcoming launch of the HTC One Mini (also known as M4) has been confirmed by two different sources recently. The One Mini sports a 4.3 inch display - significantly smaller than the screen on its big brother. The display resolution is unknown at the moment, but it could be HD (1280 x 720), or qHD (960 x 540).

Spotlight search will be accessible from every app page on iOS 7 Home screen, instead of having a separate panel that it has on previous iOS versions.

Chinese OEMs Unwilling To Build Windows Phone Devices Due To Nokia's Dominance [Report]

Chinese OEMs Unwilling To Build Windows Phone Devices Due To Nokia's Dominance [Report]

Have you ever wondered why there aren't that many Windows Phone manufacturers compared to Android. One obvious reason would be how compared to Android, Windows Phone's market share is only a fraction of Android's, ultimately discouraging OEMs to license the platform. Secondly, and this is according to Digitimes, another reason why OEMs are a bit hesitant to adopt the Windows Phone platform is due to how much market share Nokia is currently controlling, which we guess could be said the same when looking at Android and how much Samsung is currently dominating there.

The folks over at Engadget have received an invitation from the good people over at HTC, where both HTC as well as Taiwanese carrier Chunghwa Telecom will hold a joint press event this coming June 19th. It seems that there will be a couple of smartphones that will be rolling out in Taiwan then – the HTC Desire 600 which features BoomSound technology as well as a 4.5" display, alongside a spanking new Butterfly S. The latter would seem to be a rather interesting proposition – would it end up as HTC's new flagship smartphone, at least over there.

Amazon Fresh LA Set To Rock And Roll

There were whispers bandied about earlier this month that Amazon will expand their Amazon Fresh, an online grocery service, over to a market apart from Seattle – the city of angels, Los Angeles. There was not much fanfare to accompany the launch of Amazon Fresh there, as the homepage was updated on the sly, and one would find that Amazon Fresh mobile applications for both the iOS and Android platforms have also been refreshed to reflect this latest change. Having said that, how will this change the grocery purchasing patterns of LA folk.

2013 Ford Mustang V6

2013 Ford Mustang V6

Secretary Trim, Evolved. There was a time not so long ago when opting for a base Ford Mustang meant getting little more than some sheetmetal, an anemic four-cylinder engine and what may very well have been the world's most disappointing automatic transmission. During the Fox Body years, Ford seemed hell-bent on living up to Carroll Shelby's derogatory description of the coupe as little more than a runabout for demure office assistants, and the result was a base model with fewer sporting intentions than a Dilbert day calendar.
Some 20 years later, hopping behind the wheel of an entry-level pony is an entirely different experience.

TVR back from the grave

Top Gear reports a UK entrepreneur has purchased TVR from former Russian owner Nikolai Smolenski. As you may recollect, Smolenski bought the British automaker in 2004 for around 15 million pounds, but never got around to producing a vehicle under the brand's name. Les Edgar won't say exactly how much he paid for TVR due to non-disclosure agreements, but he has made it clear he has big plans for the brand. Edgar made a name for himself in video game development but is no stranger to the automotive space.
