Not attending the Woodward Dream Cruise? Watch it here, right now

What's a gearhead to do. This weekend marks two big automotive events on the American calendar - the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance and the Woodward Dream Cruise. You can follow along right here at Autoblog for all the action from Pebble Beach, while Woodward is a trickier proposition. It's not so much news or new models at Woodward, but the atmosphere. Capturing it via text and photos isn't the easiest thing to do.

Thankfully, the team at Autoline Detroit will be webcasting live from Woodward between 4:00 and 5:00 PM EST today.

LG Nexus 5 Sees October Launch (Rumor)

Just a few days ago, we brought you yet another edition of rumors concerning the Nexus 5 which is said to be manufactured by the folks over at LG. Vietnamese rumor site Tinhte might have something more concrete to add to the situation, where they have leaked out details that the Nexus 5 could very well arrive later this October, which is a further "confirmation" of a rumor that dates all the way back to March. Hmmm, a rumor confirming a rumor. That's rich.

Google Project Loon Delivers 10Mbps For Users

It has been reported in the news before Bill Gates thinks that Google's Project Loon might be cool and all, but it will not help stop folks from dying from diseases such as malaria and combat malnutrition in some of the remotest areas of the world. Well, everyone would have a better life with an Internet connection, and that is exactly what Google's Project Loon has set out to do. The general idea is this – to deliver Internet connectivity to the masses across a vast geographical domain thanks to a network of balloons that happen to float 20 kilometers high up. How do those balloons remain afloat.

White Sony Honami extensively photographed, 20.7 MP camera confirmed

The Sony smartphone codenamed Honami, and which may possibly get launched as the Xperia i1, has starred in a bunch of new photos. This is hardly the first time that the Honami has been caught on camera doing its thing out and about, in the wild, but it's the first time we've seen the white version of the device being captured. As you can see, the white Honami is also compared to an iPhone 5. Its back is even compared to a Sony Xperia Z, which incidentally is the handset that the Honami is supposed to replace in Sony's portfolio.

The Honami is definitely a bit bigger than the Xperia Z, and the comparison with the iPhone is pretty funny.

LG G Pad 8.3รข€³ Full HD Plus (1920x1200) tablet should be announced at IFA Berlin

LG's first foray into Android tablets back in 2011 was a flop. Of course, back then, LG couldn't make a decent Android phone either. And Android 3.0 Honeycomb, Google's first try at tablet optimized OS, wasn't ready for primetime too.
Todayร‚ - things are different.

After a few false starts, LGร‚ has ร‚ finally figured out how to make very competitive Android devices, and sell them in respectable quantities.ร‚ Tablets based on Google's mobile OS have found their buyer as well, and are now even outselling Apple's iPads.

2014 Mini Cooper interior spied uncovered in China

2014 Mini Cooper interior spied uncovered in China

As we approach the November 18 debut of the new Mini Hardtop, the trickle of news is starting to increase. We've already shown you the exterior of the new hatchback, and now we can show you the interior. These images, captured by Car News China, show a cabin that maintains a few key Mini styling items, but is a fairly progressive evolution of the current R56 model. Mini's most iconic interior treatment, its center-mounted speedometer, is now gone. The new speedo sits atop the steering column, flanked by a (too tiny, in our opinion) tachometer. In the speedometer's former position are the radio controls.

Next-gen Cadillac Escalade debuting October 7 in NYC

Cadillac will unveil the next Escalade in October, at an event in New York City. It will be the sole member of GM's large SUV family to not get a debut at the Texas State Fair, which we don't think is all that surprising, considering the kind of clientele attracted by the big Caddy. The new truck, from the few teaser images and spy shots we've seen, has evolved with the rest of the Cadillac range. We've got a glimpse of its tall, thin headlights, which look like an evolution of what's on the current truck.

Gartner: smartphones outsell featurephones thanks to Android

Gartner has released its Q2 2013 mobile phones sales report, which shows that smartphones have outsold featurephones for the first time. Worldwide smartphones sales grew up to 225 million units, a 46.5% increase from the same period last year. This has mostly come at the expense of feature phone sales, which declined by 21% for the same period to 210 million units. Gartner says that despite the all-around increase of smartphone sales, some regions stood up.

Concept BlackBerry "Peek Holster" Looks Pretty Sleek

One of the cool features of BlackBerry devices in general that we wish most phones would incorporate, would be a LED light that blinks when you have a notification, which makes it easier and provides a more subtle way of informing the user rather than having to activate the phone just to check. Unfortunately when placed into a case, the notification LED can sometimes be hidden, which is why this concept case by Steve Purvey, a design intern for BlackBerry, is a pretty clever idea.

Larry Ellison Pessimistic About Apple's Future Without Steve Jobs

Many have associated Apple with innovativeness, although there are some who feel that the innovativeness came largely from the company's late co-founder, Steve Jobs, and while Tim Cook is not a bad leader, there are some who hold pessimistic views about the future of Apple under Cook's leadership, and Oracle's Larry Ellison is one of them. Speaking to Charlie Rose on CBS This Morningร‚ in an interview, Ellison shared his somewhat pessimistic outlook on the future of Apple. According to Ellison, “We saw, we conducted an experiment [...] I mean, it's been done.

LG G2 Launch Event In Korea Ends In Disaster

LG G2 Launch Event In Korea Ends In Disaster

It was last week when LG officially announced their latest smartphone, the LG G2. Given that the G2 will be the company's flagship smartphone for the moment, naturally LG is doing everything they can to get the word about the device and has probably spent a lot of money on marketing and promotions, but it seems that over in South Korea, LG's marketing stunt might have actually shed negative light onto the company and its product, rather than casting them in a positive light. Basically what LG did was that the released a bunch of balloons into the sky with the balloons containing vouchers which would give winners a free handset.

iPhone 5S Battery Is Apparently Of A Higher Capacity Than Its Predecessor

If we look at the previous iPhone models that have come with the “S” moniker attached, we can see that Apple doesn't really make any design changes. The company releases such models with improvements under the hood. The iPhone 5S is expected to get similar treatment this time around, with majority of the rumored improvements being made to internal components. We had heard rumors before that perhaps Apple might opt for a larger display for the iPhone 5S, but a latest rumor suggests that the device's dimensions will remain similar to the iPhone 5, thus making chances of a larger display look slim.

Xbox Live junkies like myself might be happy to hear this news if they're also fans of DashClock. Developer Matt Katzenburger has created a DashClock widget extension that will show you how many of your friends are online. Beyond the amount of friends, it will also give you the exact list below the extension's main text. That's about as far as functionality goes, though, so don't expect the world.
Still, it's a great way for folks to decide whether they want to sign on — I know I like to check who's on using SmartGlass or the Xbox website before I decide to power my console on.

Archos GamePad 2 on the way, stops by the FCC

Archos GamePad 2 on the way, stops by the FCC

Last year Archos announced the GamePad, which was basically a gamepad wrapped around an Android tablet. The concept was surely intriguing, and it eventually reached the US in February for a pretty good price. However, we've yet to hear about the Archos GamePad breaking any sales records (even Archos' own). That may have something to do with the chipset of choice that was employed in that device, a rather average one. Also, the GamePad didn't have stellar battery life or a great screen, so you can see why it hasn't been selling like hot cakes.

So maybe its successor will. That's right, Archos is apparently working on the GamePad 2.

Updated Spyker D8 headed for Geneva ahead of production run

Spyker, which is somehow still alive and kicking, has been desperately trying to produce a mid-engined, super-sports utility vehicle since it debuted the D12 Peking-To-Paris Concept at the 2006 Geneva Motor Show (later revised to "D8" with a change in proposed engine cylinder count). Seven years later, AutoCar is reporting that it might finally see production. Thanks to its partnership with Chinese brand Youngman, which provided a 25 million Euro ($33.2 million at today's rates) infusion of cash for the P2P and other projects, Spyker is aiming to produce 1000 units for growing luxury markets like China and Russia.

Apple's board might be pressuring on CEO for lack of innovation

The latest report on Apple says the company's board is putting pressure on CEO Tim Cook because the lack of innovation in Apple's latest (and probably upcoming) products. The Fox Business reporter Charlie Gasparino says Apple's board wants the company to come forward with some changes without further delays. He also says despite the board is pressuring Tim Cook, his job in the company is safe.
The countless rumors we saw throughout the past weeks confirm Apple is already breaking the product pattern and will be releasing a low-cost model of iPhone called 5C.

Arirang Is A North Korean Smartphone (Rumor)

When it comes to the world of smartphones, you could say that South Korean manufacturers such as LG, Samsung and Pantech have come an extremely long way since their early days of foraying into this highly competitive market. Back when Samsung's phones felt like they used extremely cheap plastic that could break all too easily, and Nokia was the 800 lbs. gorilla that did not look as though they could be toppled, ever, not many folks would jump aboard a Samsung or LG handset. Well, things have definitely changed after more than a decade, hasn't it.
