A Much Clearer Look At Sergey's “Google Glass” Prototype IRL (Bonus Parody Video)

Late last evening, we showed you guys a preview snapshop of Google co-founder Sergey Brin wearing Google's latest project “Google Glass” augmented reality glasses. Well, the picture wasn't as clear as we would like. But, as promised, I dug up these higher resolution pictures here for us to examine (or scoff at depending on your position). As a self conscious tech enthusiast who is always excited to try out the latest gadgets — I just can't see myself wearing something like this out in public. I admit, the idea is great.

Technology to Prevent Titanic-Like Event

Technology to Prevent Titanic-Like Event

Ever since the Titanic, there has always been some element of risk when navigating ships through icebergs. Through the years, scientists have attempted to come up with ways of eliminating or highlighting icebergs so passing ships will be alerted to their danger. Since icebergs move around, and are commonly veiled by thick fog or rough seas, they can often be masked from view or a ship's radar. After trying to paint icebergs, plant radio transmitters on them, and even detonating explosives on them, they still posed a high risk to ships that have to eventually pass that route.

Translogic goes for a walk with MABEL the walking robot

Our sister site Translogic visits the University of Michigan in their latest episode to check out a bipedal robot named MABEL. While other similar robots like ASIMO (built by Honda), and the Partner Robots (from Toyota) have wowed crowds with their ability to walk upright, MABEL advances the technology with a complex system of springs in its knees so that its gait more resembles actual human locomotion. This enables MABEL to actually run like a human, with both "feet" leaving the ground for part of each stride. MABEL actually set a world record for fastest two-legged machine last summer, hitting a peak pace of 6.8 miles per hour.

GSM Galaxy Nexus seeing signal issues after Android 4.0.4 update?

Sometimes, updates aren't as sweet as they initially sound. Such is the case with Android 4.0.4, which recently rolled out to owners of the GSM Galaxy Nexus. According to an increasingly vocal swath of members at xda-developers (and confirmed by a listing on Google's own Support page), there are mysterious signal issues now troubling the device. For many users, there's an inexplicable loss of signal - a complete inability to make or receive calls and text messages - after applying the v4.0.4 update, though it's beginning to look like Sleep is the issue.

Well, they have done just that, and what you see above is part of the fruit of their hard work. The Nokia Lumia 900 is no stranger to us, considering how it is the most recent Windows Phone-powered device to hit the market, where a solitary piece of polycarbonate will hold all the relevant innards in place. It must be said that polycarbonate makes for a decent choice of material when it comes to maintaining the overall construction quality.

2014 Chevrolet Impala debuts all-new design

To hear Chevrolet tell the story, the Impala is super popular with the public. True, it was one of the ten best-selling cars the U.S. last year, but take away sales to rental, government and commercial fleets, and we'd bet our last dollar that the Impala is no more popular than its competitors, probably less so considering its age. That's why Chevrolet is hoping its all-new Impala for 2013 will do what the last model couldn't: attract folks who don't buy their large sedans in bulk.
The 2013 Chevrolet Impala clearly looks considerably better and more modern than the car it replaces, which hadn't received a thorough redesign since 2005.
