A group of Pentagon-funded physicists says they have developed a “time cloak” that temporarily makes an event undetectable. According to the journal Nature, the prototype device manipulates the flow of light in such a way that, for a fraction of a second, an event cannot be seen. The research aims to create a next generation of camouflage in which specific colors cannot be seen by the human eye. The project exploits the fact that frequencies of light move at fractionally different speeds.
