The Nissan NV200, the van that's meant to act as the backbone of the New York City taxi fleet, is being recalled. Compared to some of the recalls we've seen this year, the 2,529 NV200s needing repairs is not a particularly huge deal – but try telling that to their inconvenienced owners and drivers. Over the past few months we have reported about several incidents in which people used counterfeit iPhone chargers only to get injured or worse, lose their lives. The Sony Xperia Z1S surely must be drawing closer to a release, right. It just showed up on Postel (the Indonesian equivalent of the FCC), which coincides with a brand new rumor of a Shanghai event. The Xperia Z1S has the model number D5503 and is sometimes called Z1 mini. A couple of spy shots next to its bigger sibling reveal the reason for the "mini" moniker – it has a 4.3x720p screen instead of 5x1080p, but keeps the Snapdragon 800 chipset and 20MP camera of the big Z1.

Behold the 2014 Nissan GT-R as dressed by Nismo and inspired by the GT3-spec race car that competed in this year's Nürburgring 24-hour race. Called the "ultimate iteration of Nissan's GT-R supercar," power goes up by 55 horsepower to 600 hp with updates like high-flow, large diameter turbos, and torque is "over 480 pound-feet," which means it's risen by at least 35 lb-ft. The "Hands on Ron Burgundy" contest kicks off tomorrow, and whoever can touch Ron the longest will drive off in a new 2014 Durango. While details are slim, it appears that the "touching" involves keeping your cursor on the moving "Touch Ron" button on the screen. Aside from that, you'll just have to wait until tomorrow to find out more.

Chevy Corvette Stingray picks up another award, this time from Automobile

The new Chevrolet Corvette Stingray has picked up another buff book accolade after capturing Road and Track's Performance Car of the Year award. The seventh-generation of America's sports car (sorry Viper, Mustang, et al.) has been named Automobile Magazine's Automobile of the Year. Automobile's award to the Corvette over competitors is the mirror image of its rival Motor Trend, which named the Cadillac CTS its car of the year over the C7. The CTS was, according to the Automobile team, the closest contender to the mighty Stingray.

It was back in September when Apple finally released iOS 7 to the public. Apple's latest and greatest iOS update, which totally changes the look and feel of the OS, has been very well received. Since the release, Apple has rolled out a few incremental updates to fix some bugs but it hasn't made any drastic changes. That would come in a major update like iOS 7.1. Today, iOS 7.1 beta download became available for registered developers, which confirms that Apple has already started working on the next big update.
