There's a race going on in the developing world. It's the race to add as many mobile users in as little time as possible, and it's being fought by the world's two most populous countries, China and India. Recently we let you know that China won the ‘first to one billion' prize, according to official numbers. But the race is far from over, and as it turns out, India is quite close to China in terms of the total number of mobile customers.
India ended February with 911.17 million people having a mobile connection, and the total number of telephone subscribers in India (including landlines) was at 943.49 million.
