. Consumers waited over a year for Motorola to finally ease up on its controversial bootloader policy. While its smartphones continued to sell well, a small fraction of the Internet was left unsatisfied. Last week, the company launched its online bootloader unlocking tool, and even though the service was only available for a limited number of devices, it represented a step in the right direction. It seems Motorola can't take a step forward without taking two steps back, however.
