Qualcomm has announced the next generation in Snapdragon – the S4 series of SoCs that are set to be in phones and tablets starting in 2012. This new chipset brings the manufacturing process from 45nm to 28nm resulting in a more power efficient chipset that is low on heat and physical real estate. They're calling the CPU inside Krait which boasts a new architecture that'll net them 60% gains in performance over the current S3 chipsets. Clock speeds can go from 1.5GHz to 2.5GHz.
