RFID Device Stores Complete Medical Data in Case of Emergency

Asahi Kasei, a Japan-based chemical and tech company, introduces a gadget that provides easy access of medical data on a specific person, making the lives of paramedics, emergency doctors, and patients much easier. The company uses the FeliCa smart card technology, which is widely used in Japan's mobile carriers and major PC makers, to develop a RFID card that stores all medical data of one person. During an emergency situation, doctors or paramedics can tap the FeliCa-equipped equipment against the RFID card to instantly view the entire medical information of its owner such as blood type, date of birth, etc.
