It was last week when LG officially announced their latest smartphone, the LG G2. Given that the G2 will be the company's flagship smartphone for the moment, naturally LG is doing everything they can to get the word about the device and has probably spent a lot of money on marketing and promotions, but it seems that over in South Korea, LG's marketing stunt might have actually shed negative light onto the company and its product, rather than casting them in a positive light. Basically what LG did was that the released a bunch of balloons into the sky with the balloons containing vouchers which would give winners a free handset.

If we look at the previous iPhone models that have come with the “S” moniker attached, we can see that Apple doesn't really make any design changes. The company releases such models with improvements under the hood. The iPhone 5S is expected to get similar treatment this time around, with majority of the rumored improvements being made to internal components. We had heard rumors before that perhaps Apple might opt for a larger display for the iPhone 5S, but a latest rumor suggests that the device's dimensions will remain similar to the iPhone 5, thus making chances of a larger display look slim.

Xbox Live junkies like myself might be happy to hear this news if they're also fans of DashClock. Developer Matt Katzenburger has created a DashClock widget extension that will show you how many of your friends are online. Beyond the amount of friends, it will also give you the exact list below the extension's main text. That's about as far as functionality goes, though, so don't expect the world.
Still, it's a great way for folks to decide whether they want to sign on — I know I like to check who's on using SmartGlass or the Xbox website before I decide to power my console on.

Archos GamePad 2 on the way, stops by the FCC

Last year Archos announced the GamePad, which was basically a gamepad wrapped around an Android tablet. The concept was surely intriguing, and it eventually reached the US in February for a pretty good price. However, we've yet to hear about the Archos GamePad breaking any sales records (even Archos' own). That may have something to do with the chipset of choice that was employed in that device, a rather average one. Also, the GamePad didn't have stellar battery life or a great screen, so you can see why it hasn't been selling like hot cakes.

So maybe its successor will. That's right, Archos is apparently working on the GamePad 2.

Spyker, which is somehow still alive and kicking, has been desperately trying to produce a mid-engined, super-sports utility vehicle since it debuted the D12 Peking-To-Paris Concept at the 2006 Geneva Motor Show (later revised to "D8" with a change in proposed engine cylinder count). Seven years later, AutoCar is reporting that it might finally see production. Thanks to its partnership with Chinese brand Youngman, which provided a 25 million Euro ($33.2 million at today's rates) infusion of cash for the P2P and other projects, Spyker is aiming to produce 1000 units for growing luxury markets like China and Russia.

The latest report on Apple says the company's board is putting pressure on CEO Tim Cook because the lack of innovation in Apple's latest (and probably upcoming) products. The Fox Business reporter Charlie Gasparino says Apple's board wants the company to come forward with some changes without further delays. He also says despite the board is pressuring Tim Cook, his job in the company is safe.
The countless rumors we saw throughout the past weeks confirm Apple is already breaking the product pattern and will be releasing a low-cost model of iPhone called 5C.

Back when Samsung's phones felt like they used extremely cheap plastic that could break all too easily, and Nokia was the 800 lbs. gorilla that did not look as though they could be toppled, ever, not many folks would jump aboard a Samsung or LG handset. Well, things have definitely changed after more than a decade, hasn't it.
