Translogic tackles the weight-sensing ZBoard electric skateboard

Translogic tackles the weight-sensing ZBoard electric skateboard

There is nothing new about an electric skateboard (you can pick one up today at Sears or Toys 'R' Us), but the founders of ZBoard have come up with an innovative way to make electric mobility safe and easy. The ZBoard uses intuitively placed weight-sensing pads to control acceleration and braking, and Translogic recently had the chance to check one out. Weighing in at 30 pounds, the ZBoard is powered by a 400-watt motor and a lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) battery giving the board a 10-mile range and top speed of 17 miles per hour.

Sweden's Prince Carl Philip to race for Volvo in STCC

Sweden's Prince Carl Philip to race for Volvo in STCC

Prince Carl Philip Bernadotte has it good. He is a member of the Swedish Royal Family, he dates a model and he has been voted by Forbes as one of the "20 Hottest Young Royals." If that were not enough, he is a fairly successful racecar driver. The latter has earned him a spot on the Volvo Polestar racing team for the Swedish Touring Car Championship. The prince will be piloting a race-spec S60 in the 2013 STCC campaign.
Starting in 2008, Prince Carl Philip began competing in the Porsche Carrera Cup, where he placed as high as 11th.

AAA calls on US government to suspend E15 gasoline sales

AAA calls on US government to suspend E15 gasoline sales

AAA has released a statement urging government regulators to postpone the sale of E15 gasoline until more consumers can be educated on the fuel. According to the organization, 95 percent of drivers polled have never heard of the fuel, which is a blend of 15 percent ethanol and 85 percent traditional gasoline. What's more, AAA points out that only around 12 million of the 240 million light duty vehicles on the road today are approved for E15, including 2001 and newer Porsche models, 2012 and newer GM cars and trucks and 2013 Ford products, and that using the fuel in many vehicles could void their warranties.

Sony could introduce cheap quad-core smartphones in 2013 [Rumor]

In case you weren't aware of this, current Sony Android smartphones are powered by dual-core chipsets, while their competitors such as HTC and Samsung have introduced quad-core smartphones as early as MWC this year. The good news is that if you are looking forward to a quad-core Sony smartphone, come 2013 your wish may come true. While there are rumors of a certain Sony "Odin" handset with a quad-core chipset along with some pretty impressive hardware, word on the street has it that Sony could also be looking at releasing cheap and affordable smartphones in 2013 that will also be quad-core powered.
