TABU Multi-Talented Universal Mini Stand

TABU Multi-Talented Universal Mini Stand

What makes the TABU Universal Mini Stand phone / small tablet stand worth spending your hard earned cash for a Kickstarter pledge. First of all, it won't cost you very much. A pledge of only $9 will get you two of these little stands that can be used in a variety of ways. Your phone can be oriented in landscape or portrait positions. Put two side by side for use with a tablet. Use is an earphone wrap or for cable management. Stick it to the back of your phone and you can then hang it from an edge like the top of your laptop.

Jelly Bean hits original Motorola Droid for the same reason we climb Everest: because it's there (video)

The first-run Motorola Droid has developed a reputation as the Phone That Would Not Die - while official upgrades stopped around Froyo, enthusiasts have been keeping the QWERTY slider alive ever since. Kfazz at the XDA-Developers forums has taken up the torch this time around with a port of Jelly Bean. Based on CyanogenMod 10, the build is surprisingly functional, if currently buggy. The only glaring holes are a sometimes-broken camera and the absence of Google Now.

Serious PC gamers require serious gaming kit and here at IFA 2012, Plantronics is showcasing a product built precisely for that segment. Announced just today, the limited edition GameCom Commander headset bakes Dolby 7.1 ProLogic sound and noise isolation tech into a ruggedized form factor - so it'll survive your late night Max Payne-related tantrums. We tried the headset on for size and were delighted with just how light it actually is - definitely a plus for marathon gaming sessions. As for that mic, it's placed a good distance from your mouth and, of course, adjusts to suit your needs.

IDC: iPhone wait cuts Apple's China phone share by nearly half, Lenovo seizes the opportunity

IDC: iPhone wait cuts Apple's China phone share by nearly half, Lenovo seizes the opportunity

There's a lot of talk of a new iPhone coming soon, and the Chinese know it. IDC researchers estimate that Apple's share of smartphones in the country was sliced almost in half during the second quarter, to 10 percent, as expectations and rumors led the local population to wait for the big update. Better competition also played a part in denting iPhone shipments, although it's not Apple's chief rival Samsung who's responsible. Rather, it's China's own Lenovo that had the most impact.
