Renault Zoe EV motors nearly 1,000 miles in 24 hours, charges nine times

Even amongst siblings, Renault's shown it's game for a little competition. With a 994 mile trip completed earlier this month on a test circuit, the company's Zoe EV broke a record for the longest distance an electric car has covered in a 24 hour period, according to France Mobilite Electrique (translation via TreeHugger). Think the French automaker's vehicle pulled off the feat on a single charge. Try nine half-hour rapid-charge juice-ups that each provide a roughly 130 mile range in a controlled test-circuit environment.

Don't you hate it when sometimes you go to a seafood restaurant and you end up getting ripped off. Well it seems that due to tourists complaining about exorbitant seafood prices at Sanya in Southern China's Hainan province, the local government has decided to act upon it by introducing a new order system that will hopefully put an end to all the rip offs and cheating. Utilizing an iPad, it seems that restaurants who have 15 or more tables will have to use this new system, while smaller restaurants will have to rely on PDAs.

Bentley to debut new Continental GT Speed at Goodwood?

The Goodwood Festival of Speed is coming up, and suitably enough, few automakers will be as well represented as Bentley. In fact, the Flying B will have its largest presence ever for the annual run up the hill, including new models and old, racing and road cars. As part of its program, Bentley has promised to debut a new model at the moving British auto expo. The upscale automaker remains tight-lipped on what it is, saying only that it combines "stunning performance with exquisite luxury in the Bentley tradition." The organizers, however, list the Continental GT Speed as taking part in the event.

Mini 'Britalian Job' celebrates London Olympics with sendup of heist film
