Jawbone Up review

Jawbone Up review

Back in July, Jawbone did something surprising. The company, best known for its Bluetooth headsets, announced it was cooking up a wristband called "Up" - a wearable device that would track the wearer's sleeping, eating and exercise habits. At the time, we didn't know much more than that, but given the company's expertise in wearable tech, we assumed it would at least have a Bluetooth radio, tying it together with all the other products Jawbone sells. As it turns out, the wristband doesn't sync your vitals wirelessly and for better or worse, it doesn't work quite the way we thought it would.

Professional seller of Jaffa Cakes and other foodstuffs, Sainsburys, announce that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 was the best-selling item in their stores on release week. It made more money for the retailer than bread, milk, and somehow even Marmite to take the top spot. Marmite took revenge earlier today by leaping out of a lorry and spreading itself all over a British motorway, hurting no-one seriously but causing hours of delays for commuters. The Telegraph reported the figures, revealed by Sainsbury's commercial director, and added that Call of Duty was toppled in the week after release by huge sales of Teacher's whisky.

Patent Troll sues nearly the entire mobile industry

Digitude, an IP licensing company based in Alexandria, Virginia, just sued RIM, LG, Sony, Samsung, Nokia, Motorola, HTC, and Amazon over the infringement of four of its patents:. Amazon got sued just over the following patent:. All others were sued additionally for alleged infringed of the patents below:

As it is the case so often, Digitude was not the inventor behind these patents, but took ownership just two weeks ago. Two of the patents were originally assigned to Adaptec, one to Mitsubishi and one to Apple. It appears that all four patents are part of a patent package Digitude announced to have acquired in June of this year.
