New software can easily unlock any iPhone

. Apple's fifth-generation iPhone 4S can now be SIM-unlocked in just a few easy steps, as can any previous version of Apple's popular smartphone line. The new unlock procedure, mapped out this past weekend by mobile hacker “Loktar_Sun,” will allow iPhone owners to use a SIM card from any compatible carrier rather than just the carrier from which the phone was purchased. Users need only jailbreak their iPhones and follow a simple 13-step procedure to unlock their handsets, though caution should obviously be taken and the procedure will void the manufacturer's warranty.

We've already seen the production-ready 2013 SRT Viper. In fact, we named it Best In Show after it officially debuted at the 2012 New York Auto Show earlier this month. But what we haven't seen is the full color palette that will be offered, and our spy photographers recently caught a Viper prototype out testing sporting a fresh coat of yellow paint, as well as some new, more sedate wheels. As for that color, we aren't sure how we feel about it just yet, granted, we'll want to see it in person and without all of the hastily bolted-together panel gaps of this prototype.

Verizon Galaxy Nexus drops to $200 on-contract

Last week, rumors suggested Verizon would be dropping the on-contract MSRP for its Galaxy Nexus. The phone, once a $300 exclusive in America, can now be had for $200 after rebates and other applicable discounts. It’s a pretty sensible move on Verizon’s part. Not only has the device been out for more than four months, but Sprint’s version of the device, which costs $200 and launched yesterday, likely pushed Verizon to make the change.

In any case, $100 is a nice price difference.

Sony's Latest iOS Dock; Magnetic Fluid for Dampening

Earlier today, Japanese electronics giant Sony, announced two new speakers for Apple's line of mobile devices which include the iPhone, iPad as well as the iPod. The all-in-one speakers are touted to be the first of its kind in using magnetic fluid for dampening. Both of the docks in question also feature DAB radios as well as CD plays. For one of two models named CMT-V75BTiP, your device will be able to connect with it wirelessly via Bluetooth and you can even enjoy a little light show.
