Verizon Wireless has done pretty well in the past to release software updates for the Casio G'zOne Commando smartphone in the past, and ever since the Android-powered handset had reached Android 2.3 Gingerbread, the latest update will be part of the overall maintenance, so you can forget about Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich for the moment. This particular update will come in the form of software update C771M080, where it is relatively lightweight at just 18.6MB, taking around 10 minutes (or less, depending on how fast your connection is) to download, while consuming another 5 to 10 minutes to perform the installation process.

The Incredible Hulk drives... a Toyota Yaris?

As children of the '80s, we remember Marvel's What The–. series of comic books with fond memories. More recently, it appears the series has migrated to video on YouTube. Either way, playing parodies with Marvel's most beloved characters makes for a romping good time, and Toyota has decided to buddy-up with the comic producer to help sell the Yaris.
The first episode of the Marvel/Toyota universe features one Dr. Bruce Banner, also known as The Incredible Hulk. After a brief cameo by Red Hulk, Mr. Banner hooks up with Dr. Strange and the two of them go on a road trip.

Ubuntu's Precise Pangolin to pull less power than predecessors

We won't be seeing the finished version of Ubuntu's next release for a few months, but the folks at Canonical are hard at work making Precise Pangolin the very best it can be. Version 12.04 is an LTS release, meaning only refinements are in store for the OS, but apparently one of the areas targeted for improvement is power consumption. In a post on his blog, Ubuntu kernel engineer Colin King explained that the plan is to provide power savings in a variety of ways, including PCI Express Active State Power Management (ASPM).

LightPad Creates Up to a 60-inch Projection of Your Smartphone Screen

Now that mankind has managed to shrink powerful computers packaged down to a pocketable size the next step, logically, is to find a way to make them big again. Or, at least, make the content displayed on their displays bigger. The hard part is creating a larger display that is also somewhat portable, a task QP Optoelectronics is attempting to tackle with their LightPad projector, which will be unveiled at CES 2012. The concept is like a mashup of Motorola’s LapDock, the ASUS PadFone, and the Samsung Beam. Any smartphone with an HDMI connector can be linked to the LightPad; there is no special user interface involved.

GM commits another $68M to Oshawa to build Impala

General Motors has announced that it will invest an additional $68 million into the company's Oshawa assembly plant to produce the next-generation Chevrolet Impala. Those funds are on top of over $100 million headed toward the facility to help launch production of the Cadillac XTS in the plant. The Impala marks the fifth new model to be manufactured at Oshawa since 2009, and GM says the new investment will secure approximately 350 jobs. The next-generation Impala will be built both in Oshawa and at the GM plant in Hamtramck, Michigan, which is also responsible for building the 2013 Chevrolet Malibu.

Fusion Garage no more?

The Fusion Garage Grid10 tablet was announced a few months ago and scheduled to ship out a couple of months after that. But we're reaching the end of the year and according to reports online, it looks like quite a number of customers who have ordered the Grid10 have yet to receive them. Now Fusion Garage seems to have stopped all communications on Twitter and Facebook. Even the PR agency working with Fusion Garage has decided to pull out.
